Jenn White, host of NPR’s daily radio program 1A, was recently in Wichita to support local NPR station KMUW. White, who has worked in radio since 1999, was named as 1A’s host in July 2020. Tom Shine, director of news and public affairs at KMUW, interviewed White at Groover Labs in front of a crowd of KMUW supporters. She shared thoughts about her career path; some of her favorite interviews, which include former President Barrack Obama and talkshow host, producer, and entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey; the importance of self-care, and the value of mentoring Black journalists.
